Things to do in St Davids

Some information here taken from the St Davids Vistor Centre Website.

Walking

St Davids is a great area for walks, whether you want an evening stroll or if you are out for the day. You can take a bus a few miles along the coast and walk back and there are circular walks. There are leaflets with information on walks easily found in the town.

Water sports

Surrounded on three sides by sea, the St Davids Peninsula is famous for it's water-sports.

Whitesands and Newgale beaches are both renowned for surfing, there are life guards here during the summer holidays. Lookout for the flags which indicate which stretch of beach is covered by rescue services. Surf boards can be hired at Whitesands during the summer holidays.

Wind surfing is possible at Whitesands, Newgale and Abereiddy for the experienced with their own rigs. Rig hire and tuition is available at Dale.

Canoeing St Davids offers a wide range of canoeing and kayaking opportunities. There is sheltered paddling suitable for beginners in Porthclais and Solva. For the more experienced there is the possibility of open sea trips around the dramatic and sometimes wild open coast, or surfing at Whitesands or Abereiddy, or the challenge of play boating on the Bitches in Ramsey Sound (you need to be experienced for this one)
